December News at Gargunnock Gardens

As we come to the end of another year, we are amazed at all the changes that have taken place in the Gardens in 2015. One of the most important is the start of a brand new project in the Walled Garden to create an arboretum. Tree planting has begun and we have a much needed “Gardener’s Shed” where we can store tools and take respite from the weather! There is much hard landscaping still to do and work continues to repair the wall surrounding the Garden. Spring and Summer will see the creation of new borders and paths.

Our new wildflower meadow was a great success and we hope to recreate it again in 2016. As the days are short and the weather is wet and windy, it is encouraging to remember that it won’t be too long before the snowdrops arrive again and as usual we are open for the snowdrop festival. Due to the new arboretum project, we won’t be holding our usual Open Day, although the gardens will be open weekdays as usual. Please check our opening hours page for more information.
